John's Jaunty Jargon

Hey everyone! I'm in Prague now! Telecommunications are hard to find here! Plus the phone system is really complicated so its hard to call home from here. Everything else is really really sweet! The buildings are really cool- I can't post any pics from here though 'cause I'm having to use an internet cafe's computer to access the net. At least the keyboards are in English.

We've been to a lot of cool places already, but I don't speak the language so its hard for me to remember names- even street names are hard to remember! Yesterday we hiked up this huge hill that over looks all of Prague- it was really cool. We decided to take the tram down the side of the mountain, but when we got to the bottom there were people checking tickets. Well- when we bought our tickets at the top we didn't see anything to validate the ticket with. The guy at the bottom wasn't happy with us and wanted us to pay a fine of 400 crowns (sp?) (about $16 U.S.). Well luckily Debbie and Meredith were with us and talked the guy out of it. It was really stupid though because it said nothing at the top about validating the tickets before getting on the train- we have a feeling it was a trap for stupid tourists like us to pay more money! Oh well I guess...

I'm out for now. Its awesome! Our hostel is really cool too- we have a whole floor (6th) all to our selves with 2 balconies overlooking the city...

Lata.
