John's Jaunty Jargon

Had a fun time last night. Deanna's mom somehow got free tickets to the "International Skaters Challenge" at the Palace. So Deanna, Josh, Emily, and I took off at 5:30 and picked up Cindy. We got stuck in some traffic on 59. We only ended up missing 2 skaters (Gabel and some other guy that I didn't know).

It was pretty fun- Deanna and I bet a dollar on who would win the women's (Kwan won and I won a dollar). We went to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings on Mound Rd. after. We got back in East Lansing at around 3am. YUCK! It was a good time though so it really doesn't matter.

I went shopping at AE yesterday (thanks mom). I ended up getting a pair of jeans, a vintage hooded sweatshirt, a fleece jacket, long sleeve shirt, and the "cross" ring that I always pick up but never buy.

Some new songs to check out are:

"Pass That Dutch" by Missy Elliott
"I Like the Way You Move" by Outkast
"Rock Star (Jason Nevins Remix)" by N*E*R*D
"Move Your Feet" by Junior Senior

Yesterday ended on a good note...

Speedway called and said they want me to work on Monday at 5:00! So I guess I'll be working there part time saving money to go to Europe and maybe buy myself a new computer for next year... I thinking about just getting a battery for the iBook and getting a desktop. Maybe a lower end G5. We'll see.

Fell asleep at 9 watching some Lord of the Rings special thing on TV. I finally got my schedule all figured out for next semester and signed up for a Mythology class about the J.R.R. Tolkiens books (The Lord of the Rings and Others). I really enjoy the movies so it'll be cool to have a complete understanding of the books and Tolkiens thoughts behind them.

Woke up at like 9 this morning. I must have been exhausted from yesterday. I was at the rink 3 different times (6am, 3pm, and 6pm). I see it more as $16, $8, and $10.

lol.

Another uneventful day yesterday.

Had class all day and went to the rink. I decided that I wanted pizza for dinner (haven't had that in a while). YUM! Finished up an essay about TV ratings and program placement, caught an episode of "Extreme Makerover: Home Edition", and went to bed.

Woke up at 6am this morning to teach and now I'm sitting here writing this. I'm going to try and stay awake all day- usually I go back to bed until about 10. I have an interview at 9am at the Speedway station up the road and class at 11:30.

I think I also have an interview about a possible TC job next semester on Monday- which I would rather have than working at a stupid gas station. I'm also going to drop off a copy of my resume at Modern Skating and Surf for a Data Entry/Web Site Manager position (right up my alley).

A pretty boring day today.

Slept in (Sunday's and Tuesday's are my only days that I get to do this). Hopped in the shower at like 10:55. Got out at 11:10 then realized that the bus doesn't come at 12:12- only 11:12 and 1:12. So I quickly grabbed my pack, jacket, and iPod and headed out the door. Got to the bus stop just in time.

Got back from class around 2:45. Replied to some e-mails. One of which was for partnering at the January test session in Houghton. I didn't know that classes started so late into January so I'm going to be able to partner. Also I'm going to try and teach in Baraga a little over the holidays.

Watched the 1st episode of "The Tracy Morgan Show" which wasn't too bad. They should so more of the little kid- he's pretty funny. Also caught the end of "Simple Life" with the Hilton sisters. This was actually pretty funny... Two rich girls livin' the country life. HA HA HA!

Tomorrow should be a long day. Although we're not having a doc films meeting 'cause 1/2 the people can't make it. That should make the day a little shorter...

Sorry for the lack of updates... Its the holiday season and I've been pretty busy with school stuff too.

I had a good Thanksgiving break. Dinner was great- it had been a long time sense I had a huge home cooked meal. After dinner we watched "Chicago" and sat in the spa.

Mom and I took a trip to Marquette to go shopping on Friday. I don't think I've ever been shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving before. I was really surprised how busy it was and how stocked the store shelves were. Eventhough there were a ton of people out I had fun- there's nothing like getting in the holiday grove.

On Saturday we decided to go see "Bad Santa" which I thought totally sucked. Some of my friends down here said it was funny, but I didn't think so. It was a little too vulgar for my tastes. After the movie we went to Wal-Mart to get some stuff I needed (Pit stick, toothpaste, etc.). I was surprised that Wal-Mart had the new digital rebel camera. So I actually got to finally hold it with the lens attached. It has a nice solid feel to it- still not as good as the 10D though. But it still impressed me and I still want one.

The dive home on Sunday was pretty good. We hit a little traffic near St. John's, but nothing major- we were only stuck for about 10-15 minutes. When I got back Steph, Britt, and I went out for a quick dinner. When I got back home I watched "Orange County". God I love Jack Black- he's sooooo funny! I guess he has a DVD out- I wouldn't mind picking that up because I bet its funny like the rest of his stuff. If you haven't seen "Orange County" I would strongly recommend it- along with "Chicago"

Peace.
